The effectiveness of any text can only be determined by how it is used. We have developed a heuristic approach to usability testing that focuses not just on content, but on the intended audience, within a particular situation, trying to solve a defined problem, or complete a certain task.
Usability test results can identify the strengths and weaknesses of a website, manual, or online course before final delivery. Taking the time to test usability upfront can save hours of time that may otherwise be needed to support, maintain and update content.
